Obtaining Accurate Concentration Data with FlowCam

Obtaining Accurate Concentration Data with FlowCam

FlowCam technical note thumbnail - Obtaining Accurate Concentration Data with FlowCam

FlowCam 8000 series instruments provide count and concentration data for a wide variety of fluid samples. Relative counts can be compared reliably among different samples, while concentrations provide particles/mL values based on the actual fluid volume imaged by the instrument. By understanding and considering the various factors that can affect reported concentrations, FlowCam users can ensure they are obtaining accurate concentration data.

Our newly published technical note, Obtaining Accurate Concentration Data with FlowCam, reviews the definitions of Particle Count, Particle Concentration, and Efficiency, and discusses how this data can be affected by the FlowCam user's methodology. It thoroughly reviews specific considerations around instrument capture settings, sample dilution, and sample handling, and makes recommendations on how to obtain the most accurate data.
